Hall of Fame
Any adult Kentucky citizen may nominate someone for the Hall of Fame. Nominees are men and women who have made significant contributions to Kentucky’s progress in the areas of civil and human rights. The candidates may be either living or deceased, and their contributions may cover a wide range of issues and eras. They may represent the Civil War period, for example, or activists of today. Their fights against discrimination may be in the areas of race, sex, religion, disability, age and economic status, religion or other human rights arenas. A panel of volunteer judges selects the inductees. The commission will hold the next Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame inductions in 2010. Nominations will be accepted in 2009.
